I’m often torn on what to wear on the weekends. Do I dress up, maybe wear some heeled boots and curl my hair to go into town? Or do I dress down, shove my hair up, throw on an oversized jumper, jeans with pumps, and go? Well last weekend I opted for the latter! I must admit I love making an effort on the weekends, when I can be bothered, but I also love the chilled out, I haven’t made an effort (even though I spent 2 hours getting ready) look. Although I often end up perving on everyone else’s outfits in town regretting I didn’t brave heels. But this outfit allowed me to embrace my inner laid back lounge style.
I probably live in these jeans most weekends – they are so versatile! I love the cool ‘90s vibe and the fact that they are high-waisted and a bit mumsy. The slouched baggy fit means you can tuck in a tee or a vest top with a leather jacket for a more polished look or let it all hang out with a casual jumper like this to look totally off-duty. The pocket detail is really cute too, there are about five pockets, plenty of belt hooks and you can wear the bottoms rolled up or down.
The jumper is another addition from my H&M haul, it’s a nice light spring colour (not like me I always seem to buy black) and it’s a really silky purl-knit texture. I like that this jumper is a little longer at the back so you can wear it with leggings and the side splits just make it stand out. Plus it’s now gone down to £10 on the H&M website, literally such a bargain!
Which look do you opt for on a weekend, dressed up or down?
