Zara is my go to shop for work wear. Granted Zara is probably my go to shop for casual wear, knitwear, night-out wear… well pretty much all wear – but seriously, I love their laid-back cuts, low crotch trousers and sophisticated blazers. H&M is also up there amongst my favourite high street stores for total effortless chic, every season I purchase too many of their blouses!
I used to have one wardrobe for work and one wardrobe for out of work, but I’ve found that my clothes are so versatile (and gorgeous) that I don’t want to deprive them of both occasions and I want to show them off as much as I can. So I now mix up my work and non-work wardrobe, so even though this is a work wear edit with different shoes and bag I would totally go shopping like this on a Saturday!
The stripy top is from H&M recently featured in my mini haul, its over sized so you can wear it out with skinny jeans or tuck it in with more tailored trousers and pencil skirts. The trousers are gorgeous, I love the wrap around tie detail, the colour and the low slung fit, which still has a slight cigarette cut to keep them smart. Finally the amazing coat, it just smartens up the whole look, it’s quite thin, great as a spring/summer coat. I love how ridiculously long it is and when it’s undone and the wind catches it you look like you mean business.
Best of all, these items are perfect for the transition from day to night look, if you’re like me and can’t handle heels all day, wear flats to work and throw on some heels for after work drinks. It won’t be long now until the beer gardens are calling for a glass of wine come five o’clock!
Do you mix work with pleasure when it comes to your wardrobe?
